Lovable, a fast-rising no-code platform from Sweden, has secured $200 million in a landmark Series A funding round — making it Europe’s latest tech unicorn. The round, led by venture capital firm Accel, now values the startup at a staggering $1.8 billion.
Founded in 2023, Lovable is known for pioneering the concept of “vibe coding” — a simplified app and website-building experience designed for users with little or no programming knowledge. This fresh approach has earned the platform over 2.3 million users, a number that continues to grow rapidly.
Europe’s Biggest-Ever Series A for a Tech Startup
The $200M funding round is not just a win for Lovable — it’s officially Sweden’s largest Series A round to date. Existing backers including 20VC, Creandum, ByFounders, Hummingbird, and Visionaries Club also participated, reinforcing investor confidence in the platform’s growth trajectory.
This milestone comes just months after Lovable’s $15 million pre-Series A round in February. Until now, the startup had raised a total of just $22.5 million, making this new influx of capital especially significant.
Expansion Plans: Hiring & Product Growth
Speaking to Forbes, CEO Anton Osika revealed that the new funds will be used to grow Lovable’s 45-member teamand expand its product capabilities — especially to support users who want to build more complex applications and websites.
“We’re focused on giving creators the tools to go beyond simple prototypes and actually build real businesses — even without a traditional coding background,” said Osika.
Why It Matters
Lovable’s rise comes at a time when no-code and low-code platforms are reshaping the software development landscape. With the global demand for developers still far outpacing supply, tools like Lovable allow entrepreneurs and teams to build faster, test ideas quicker, and scale without the overhead of large engineering teams.
Final Thoughts
Lovable’s success is another sign of Europe’s booming tech ecosystem and the continued rise of tools that empower non-technical users. As it grows its team and product roadmap, the startup is expected to play a bigger role in shaping the future of app development — not just in Europe, but globally.
